Montezane: 48 months of patience in a bottle

There are wines that make you wait. And then there are wines that you couldn’t rush even if you wanted to.

Montezane is one of them.

Metodo Classico Pas Dosé, 100% Spergola-the indigenous grape variety of the hills that rise from Scandiano to Canossa, our territory since time immemorial. A wine that was born from a precise and somewhat countercultural choice: to harvest mid-August, when the berry has not yet reached full maturity. This is not a calendar error. That’s exactly the point: that living, tense acidity is the backbone of everything that comes next.

How Montezane was born

The result? A fine and persistent perlage, deep straw yellow color, aromas of bread crust, yellow flowers and fresh apple. In the mouth: dry, harmonious, long. A wine for the whole meal, excellent with savory first courses, fish, aged cheeses.
